Dropbox Not working after restart: Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment.
I have been experiencing a very frustrating issue with Dropbox the past few days. Issue: After restarting my Mac Studio (MacOS 13.6.5), Dropbox always gets stuck with the message: Reconnecting to ...

Hi everyone,
Just a quick update: we're rolling out a fix today that should resolve this issue. It's in Stable Build 197.4.7629.
As a reminder: the current workaround is to quit/close the Dropbox application and relaunch it.
Thank you!

Nothing new on my end other than a Windows update last week. I've been using the same wifi connections at various places (home, work, cafes) and same computer. The problem with the app is a new development.

Same situation here.... I thought it was only me but I see many people dealing with this issue. As per the community manager´s last post, seems this has been escalated. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Exactly the same problem here on two Windows 11 PC's. No issues for years, but both of them are now trying to connect with the Dropbox error message 'Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment.' Have to close down the app and reopen to connect. Have already removed the Norton 360 AV and same issue. Clearly a Dropbox issue, as the same problem started on both my machines at exactly the same time. Looking forward to a fix. 🤞

Found this community using google to search for a solution. So I'm having the same issue, I thought there was a problem with my own network but now I see this problem happens to everyone, so I'm just adding another vote for the devs to fix this asap.
The way it is right now, I might as well disable the auto start up and just start it manually each time I switch on. Very annoying.
I had assumed perhaps the app was loading at startup too quickly before the network was connected and authenticated. I get the same regardless if it's my home wifi network or my work corporate network via a proxy gateway.

The work around of quit/close and relaunch the Dropbox application does not work in my case. Its MAC PRO OS running Sonoma 14.4.
Please let me know if there any sure way of resolving this issue.
Thanks,
Shirish

This issue is still unresolved, the thread incorrectly marked as resolved.
The work around of quit/close the dropbox application and relaunch application does not work.
- Sallok2 years agoNew member | Level 2It looks they have no solution for it.

If relaunching the app does not work then I think you have a different problem to what the OP was writing about. The problem I have (and the OP of this thread) was that it does not connect after a restart of the computer, but it does connect when starting the app manually. I personally do not have this problem when using on Windows 10, but there is a problem with this on my Apple Mac....
It seems to happen for me more often when connecting via my corporate network that uses a proxy server to get to the internet.... I think the app is starting before the OS has finished loading all the configs about the selected network location (which defines if I'm using the corporate proxy or not) and before the wifi has authenticated (I have to manually authenticate wifi each time I login which takes a few seconds to type in password... by which time dropbox has already got stuck trying to connect).

Hi Ben
This is happening on my Macbook pro with m2 hardware as well. Why haven't your software engineers fixed this yet?

Hi.
It has been 3 weeks since it was mentioned that the problem was flagged to the engineering team. Workaround doesn't work for me, so I can't access my information.

Looks like Dropbox team is not looking into this blocker issue..good that it happened at time of subscription renewal..this is very surprising, a blocker issue (and possibly not too complex) and no one cares.
