Dropbox Update triggering User Account Control (UAC) constantly
I have v183.3.6853 of Dropbox for Windows. Yet Dropbox Update CONSTANTLY runs triggering User Account Control (UAC) warnings - and multiple of them. I woke up today to FORTY of them. This is a home PC with only the administrator as a user. I cannot find any place to allow Dropbox Update in Windows NOT to trigger the UAC. Is there a way in DropBox to shut this annoying thing off? Or maybe have it go once a week like a normal update checker? This is very annoying and sometimes causes me to have to reboot my PC because all those warnings slow it don. Thanks!!!

Hi YankeeDocNJ, welcome to our Community!
It sounds like the version you're using is a Beta version of our desktop app. Could you try to temporarily downgrade from the beta version, in order to check if that's causing the issue and if the behavior remains the same with the UAC warnings?
You can do this by accessing your account settings on the Dropbox website and then turning Early releases off.
After that, feel free to re-install the app, and let me know how it goes. Thanks a bunch!

I just recently started having this same exact problem with version 191.4.4995.0 on Windows 10 Pro. Dropbox Early Access is turned off. Any other suggestions?

Hey Daddyo37, let's jump right into this!
Can you send us a screenshot of the warnings, so we can have a look?
Do you have the app installed locally with admin privileges?
Let me know, and we'll take it from there!

Screenshot attached. I am the only user and the Administrator.

Thanks for the screenshot Daddyo37!
How often do you see this pop-up? Does that happen every time you reboot the device, or even when the app is up and running?

When the app is up and running. This is what my taskbar looked like this morning, full of UAC popups.

Thanks for the screenshot Daddyo37!
You mentioned you were using version 191 of the app, however there's a latest update (192) out.
Can you try running the installer, to update the app while following these steps?

Done, 192 installed. We'll see what happens now.

Taskbar is clear this morning, looks like that fixed it. Thanks!
