installation failed. Dropbox installer couldn't be opened
(in admin mode, of course, and previously, i've deleted all previous installations and temporary files as showed in your post advanced installation mode
- I am experiencing exactly the same problem of crashing install error 2 failure.
- Found this fix method 3 worked for me. Does not affect your dropbox folder
contents. Use Windows Registry Editor to delete relevant dropbox system key settings and then perform a clean advanced reinstall of Dropbox. All OK.

Didn't work for me on windows 7, Alternator. Still can't start dropbox.
