I can't install Dropbox on Fedora 40
Hello,
I'm running Fedora 40 and cannot install Dropbox on my computer. After downloading the .rpm file from the Dropbox download page, it will run through the installation and daemon install process, give me a Dropbox icon in my apps but this will not activate anything after attempting to launch the program.
I have no antivirus, firewall is not an issue and I have only one device.
It used to work up until a short while ago but is now completely inaccessible. I've seen all the suggested possible solutions but none of them solves the issue. Is Dropbox even worth the trouble these days? It seems not but I don't give up easily.
Fresh suggestions welcome. Thank you.

Hi philk949, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Just to check , have you performed an advanced reinstallation of the program to see if this helps?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay, yes I have run the advanced install but with the same result, complete with the 'No Internet Connection' false error message.

Do you have any proxy, VPN, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

No, none of the above.

Hey philk949, hope you don’t mind me jumping in. Have you also tried our offline installer here?
If this still doesn’t help, we can log a ticket for you next and look into this.

Hi Nancy, thanks for jumping in. I tried the offline installer to which you directed me but the tar file, after extraction, produced nothing but an empty folder. The folder's properties say it is over 200Mb but opens to emptiness. While I was doing all this I received another pop-up informing me my computer is currently offline (utter nonsense).
Dropbox is a bad joke. - philk9492 years agoHelpful | Level 5
One more thing. You know what I find hilarious? Through all this, because of my efforts to get this rubbish working, I keep earning badges! It's like being decorated by Hitler as the Russians are knocking on the door.

After offering the exact same non-working suggestions I received from everyone else, Genius Jared is marking this ticket as Solved without any further effort on his part or communication with me. How dare you! Not just the product is rubbish.
