2 years agoHi fourbanks, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Are you installing this for Windows or Linux?
Are you manually selecting the 64 bit version from this page?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi fourbanks, hope you don’t mind me jump in.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re on a Windows device, right? Can you please clarify the OS version you’re running?
Besides that, I’d like you to follow these steps and send me a screenshot of the bit version your computer is using, as well.

Hi fourbanks,
Ha..🙂 Yes and No.
Your screenshot shows where your application executables are placed on, not what types (32-bit or 64-bit) they are (or not necessarily at least). In particular, the installer and uninstaller (themself) are 32-bit. I have no idea why (probably easier for Dropbox staff) and doubt you can receive meaningful answer why. On other side the Dropbox executable itself, despite of placed on such a place, is 64-bit. 😉 Again, don't get confused by the folder name.
Hope this clarifies the things to some extents.

Thanks, I think you have summed it up. Most 64bit software installs in the programs' folder, but this is a first for me over the past 20 years in which a piece of software 64bit has installed in the programs 86 folder. As you say, it doesn't matter as long as the developer knows of this
