We've not experienced this issue with other users, however, we can try these steps. Try manually running the DropboxUpdate.exe application by using the following steps:
- Open a Windows File Explorer (not Internet Explorer).
- Type %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Dropbox\Update into the address bar (include the % percent signs) and then press enter.
- If you get an error that says "Windows cannot find... please try typing %ProgramFiles%\Dropbox\Update into the address bar instead and then press enter.
- If the folder comes up, you should see an option for "DropboxUpdate.exe" (the ".exe" extension may not be visible).
- Double-click on the "DropboxUpdate.exe" application in this folder. This should force the Dropbox installer to run and check for the latest version of the application.
- If you do not see "DropboxUpdate.exe", please navigate to https://www.dropbox.com/install and select to download the "offline installer" under the large "Free Download" box.
- Run the installation file to re-install the Dropbox application.
Please note that this should prompt the application to update to the latest version available.
If the issue continues, please try whitelisting the application DropboxUpdate.exe in any antivirus or firewall applications on your computer and your network, and then try going through these steps again.
