Sharing activity in the desktop app isn't working.

Hi Team,

Yesterday, for a reason that I am not sure of(the only thing we did, was add another user with access to a certain dir)...the "sharing activity" has stopped working...we are working on a shared dropbox with several people constantly updating /adding files...and now on the app, you cant see the changes being made...
Its on different computers....but tried reinstalling the app, restarting etc...nothing.

 

any help will be appreciated,

    Hey ehud​, let's jump right into this! 

    I'm going to need to gather a few more pieces of info and get closer into what is happening.

    As a first step, could you clarify the app's current syncing status and version that you're using along with the device's OS? You can find the version, and syncing status by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon in your taskbar next to your WiFi.

    In addition to this I was wondering if it's possible that you signed to your desktop app using a different account, than the one you're using online. Feel free to check the steps mentioned here, in order to see the account currently linked to your desktop app. 

    Lastly, when you visit Dropbox online and check your notifications, are you able to see the changes other members did on the shared files/folders?

    Hi Megan,

     

    Thanks for the reply!

    1. The syncing status is "your files are up to date".
    2. Version 238.4.6075 - windows 11
    3. Signed in using the same account on the dropbox site...I see all the files that have been updated by other members if I go the my dropbox directory on the comptuer...The "sharing activity" portion of the app just doesnt get updated.  So I cant see "in real time" the latest files to have been updated in our shared folders(like I could up until yesterday).
    4. Regarding dropbox online, not sure where to look for notification?

    Hey ehud, thanks for the update! 

    It might sound trivial but have you tried signing out of the app, and then back again? 

    As for your notifications online, you should be able to see them when clicking the bell icon usually located in the upper-right or left corner.

    Can you send me a screenshot of that too? Thank you!
