Hi Megan,
Droptox doesn't bother me on my macbook air, but I have the same problem on my Mac mini. It is absolutely annoying having to click this message away every time I login.
Why does it keep popping up on one computer, but not the other?
I don't want to upgrade to File System Provider, because Dropbox hasn't figured out how to do LAN Sync yet, which is essential for me on my limited Internet connection.
Also, syncing something that is on a LAN via Dropbox servers is highly inefficient and bad for the planet. Why aren't your developers thinking of this?
Any help with getting rid of this message is much appreciated.
Best regards,
Robert
PS: Here are two screenshots of the sync settings of the mac mini and the macbook air. Settings are identical.

2 years agoHey Robert. As Megan mentioned above, there’s no way to stop these notifications from popping up, if your device is eligible for the File Provider update.
However, since I understand you don’t wish to upgrade to it yet, I’ve forwarded your comments and feedback to our team, so that they can see them, as well.

Hi,
After about five upgrade cycles, I stopped getting the upgrade message. Now, though, I have two Dropboxes with almost the same contents on one computer, so I'm not sure if my problems are worse or just the same with the Update, which did not work for me.
