I moved Dropbox to D: drive but now my backups don't work

My C; drive is nearly full and 50% of the space is Dropbox.   I have a second inbuilt drive that is nearly empty

So I managed to turn of backups within Dropbox and then set Dropbox to use my Ddrive     The whole Dropbox folder has moved from C; to D  but now the 6 main folders in my user folder (desktop/Downloads/Documents/Music/Pictures/Videos}) will not backup as they are on a difference drives

How do I get the backup/sync to work again?

Hey Tudordropper, thanks for posting to our Community.

I'm afraid that you can only back up files and folders from the hard drive with the Dropbox desktop app on it.

Essentially, both the backup folders and the Dropbox folder need to be on the same drive for the backups to work.

You can read more about the backups feature here.

I hope this clarifies things, but if you have more questions, feel free to ask!

Can I clarify what you are saying??   I cannot backup C:\users\myname if the dropbox folder is not also on the C: drive?

However, since I can choose to back up the contents of a folder on a external drive, could I move my biggest folders out of C:\users\myname\dropbox onto the D  drive and then include those folders to be backed up?

      Thanks
