Hey EstherKitheka, hope you don't mind me jumping in for a second.

After reviewing your tablet's info, it appears that while it reports Android 13, the underlying system is using an older kernel version. Android 13 devices typically run a newer kernel. This mismatch can prevent certain apps, including Dropbox, from being available in the Google Play Store.

It is also possible that your tablet is not Play Protect certified. Devices that are not certified may not be compatible with some apps, even if they appear to run a supported Android version.

You can verify your device certification status with the following steps.

    1. Open the Google Play Store app .
    2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
    3. Tap Settings.
    4. To check if your device is Play Protect certified, tap About.

You can read more about Play Protect certified apps here. Google provides more info if you have additional questions on that side.

If your tablet is Play Protect certified, let us know!

Hi EstherKitheka, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Have you previously installed the Dropbox mobile app on your Android device, or is this the first time you're trying to do so?

Currently, the minimum Android version supported by Dropbox is 9.0, so your OS should be supported.

Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

    1. Hi, this is the first time I am installing the app on my tablet. Here's a screenshot of what the app says when I try to install.

Could you provide the exact tablet brand and model number as found in your system settings?

This can generally be found by going to Settings, then scrolling down and tapping About Tablet or About Device > Model.

Could you also let us know the Android version from that page too?

Hey EstherKitheka! Thanks for all the info.

I’m guessing that you see the same error even if you restart your tablet. Correct?

Hi, I confirmed my tablet is not play protect certified. However I am still not able to make any edits on Dropbox online. Could it still be because of the same issue? I don't get an option of opening excel files using excel webs. I can only download the files and even after it's a read-only file.

Are you accessing the Dropbox website on the same tablet or a different device?

If the former, please try to edit your Excel files on a different device and let me know if you see the same behavior.
