I'm having trouble connecting a Windows Subsystem for Android app to Dropbox

Dropbox is the only Cloud this app can use on Windows.  Here are some of the messages I see.

This is the url that the app (aWallet) is trying to access:

[Removed as per Community Guidelines]

This is the response from that url:

The webpage at  [Removed as per Community Guidelines] could not be loaded because:

net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

After it times out I get a Windows notification:

This site can’t be reached

www.dropbox.com unexpectedly closed the connection.

Webpage not available

If anyone can offer any insight I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Fred

Hey facole - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please let us know the steps you take to do this and send us some screenshots of the errors you're getting as well so that we can have a look?

Any additional information is more than welcome!

On my Andriod S10, WiFi is not able to open the Dropbox app. Trying to use the Dropbox cloud through my aWallet app can only connect through mobile data. With WiFi the URL being sent is:
    [Removed as per Community Guidelines]

    I get this response:

This site can’t be reachedwww.dropbox.com unexpectedly closed the connection.
    Try:
    Checking the connection
    ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

    Then it says Authentication Failed.

I previously have uninstalled all ad blocking and VPN apps and disabled all browser (Chrome & Firefox) ad blocking add ons / extensions.

I also have Dropbox installed on my PC in Window 11 and Dropbox Lite in the Windows Subsystem for Android. The aWallet app has the same connection issue.
Thanks, I'll go through my notes to be sure I'm not mixing things up a bit.

I appreciate your assistance. I hope that URL above has a clue that may help.

Hi facole, have you tried contacting the developers of that app if they're aware of the error you're receiving?

On my Win11 PC.  Yes, all they say is I'm fireblocking it somehow.  If that's the case, I just want to know how to find it.  I can't think of anything else to look at.

Point is, I can manage disabling WiFi on the Andriod phone for Dropbox or rather just use Google Drive with aWallet but the aWallet Windows app and the aWallet Lite WSA app can ONLY use the Dropbox cloud.  I can get the Dropbox app to work on Win11 but the local directory just doesn't sync so I can't use a CMD file to bridge the two.

    Thanks

Hi from me as well, facole.

If I understand correctly, you're always having these issues, while connected to your WiFi, right?

Have you checked it out with your ISP, to see if there's a setting they can help you change to see if it works?
