Logic Pro X projects stored in Dropbox don't show up in "Recent"
Hi all, this is a niche issue and probably not Dropbox's "fault", but thought I'd ask here just in case.
Since I upgraded to the latest version of Dropbox for Mac (which moved the folder locati...

I'm having the same issue, but in addition to the missing recent files in the recents list, all the projects created after the update are not syncing to my other machine. To clarify, in my recents list I can see projects created before the update, no projects created after the update. All projects are synced to the cloud (I can see them online), but only the projects created before the update are actually syncing to the other machine.

I'm also having the exact same issue after letting Dropbox update itself. Feel free to email me if you'd like more info.

The same problem has happened to me since updating dropbox on one of our machines. We are the middle of a huge international project and we are now unable to sync. Please help!

Hello. For those expecting help after these requests from Dropbox staff to move the discussion to email, I would like to share my experience.
After being shifted back and forth between multiple staff members, I finally received a message from the "ultra-hiper-mega-master-advanced" support specialist who linked this article - https://help.dropbox.com/installs/macos-support-for-expected-changes - and said that, "as the article says certain package files, like those associated with the Photos, Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro apps are no longer allowed to be stored in locations that sync over cloud-storage services, Dropbox included."
The article does not say that. The article only says that "Apple no longer allows Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro libraries to be synced over cloud-storage services." Logic LIBRARIES are something completely different from PROJECT FILES, which people here are having issues with.
While it is understandable that not all support staff knows absolutely everything, I think how you (Dropbox) are handling this particular situation is not up to par. This is a month old issue, and one would expect that if you have to "jump through hoops" (as another poster here correctly described the experience) to get to the boss specialist - that boss specialist should be aware of this old issue and not just link a blatantly wrong solution.
Also, why move the discussion to mail, when it is obvious everyone is having the same issue, and you don't (yet) have a solution. Also, after being moved to mail, I wasn't really asked any questions, I was simply linked (the wrong) article multiple times.
It seems to me that the point of moving people to mail is to obfuscate the issue. I would gladly be proven wrong.
If anyone from Dropbox needs any actual help or input, I'm available. If you don't need input, then why are you moving people to "discussions" via email? - ReDRuMx3 years agoHelpful | Level 6
In order to clear things up, I would kindly request a straightforward answer to these questions:
1. Is there an issue with Dropbox, and the non-syncing of Logic PROJECT FILES (not libraries) is a bug which is currently being fixed. I'm guessing this is related to the (smaller) issue of these files also not showing up in the "recents" list?
or
2. Is the previously quoted article wrong and the text should include PROJECT FILES and LIBRARIES (which would render Dropbox useless for people using Logic Pro)?
or
3. (bonus): Dropbox specialists are not aware of the difference between PROJECT FILES and LIBRARIES, and think that these reports are expected behaviour (as per the linked article) - and are not escalating the issue as they should?

Does anyone know if other cloud services are having the same issues? Gdrive, Sync, icloud etc.
This issue with recents not showing up on top of the automatic online only issue we now have, I might have to switch away from Dropbox if there is a service that doesn't have these issues.
But I assume it is a service wide change due to Apples new rules or whatever it is.

What boggles my mind is that it was working just fine couple of years ago... I signed up for dropbox just so I can share my projects. Now, it's the only thing I can't do with it.

I have just tested Sync and it does not make your files go online only without asking and your Logic projects DO show up in recents.
So I wonder why Dropbox have had to make these changes, but Sync has not?
Sync is less feature rich and moving nearly 2TB of data is daunting or maybe not possible, but switching over may have to be the way forward.

Same problem here... Annoying. Working for media projects and now I have always to reopen the dropbox folder to find the previous file I was working on yesterday. It must be solved soon since it forces me to move out DropBox the files for work and it is not the purpose of Dropbox.
Checked: it only affects Logic Pro X Files from Dropbox, exclusively! Logic remembers files from other locations.OSX: Monterey 12.6.3
