macOS Monterey 12 - Couldnt Start Dropbox

Jay I have gone through these steps, including all other solutions discussed in both threads on this topic. Dropbox still does not work, whatever I do. I run a MacBook 2017. I had the same problem. This answer solved it for me.

Thanks meling. One of the first things I did - no success. Dropbox is graymarked in Files and Folders, but it says Dropbox has full access.

this also worked for me - 

clarification on mac: 

1. the app is 'activity monitor'

2. you can relaunch finder by doing 'command+option+escape'

and selecting finder to relaunch

3. selected menu for system preference is called 'Full Disk Access'

Ok everyone that still can't get Dropbox to work after trying Jay and others solutions in this thread – at last, I found a solution that worked for me!

Rename your local Dropbox folders and restart Dropbox. It then says that your folder/folders are moved and can't sync. You then get the alternative to re-connect your Dropbox account, re-installing the app. Choose that and it will re-install your folders with the old names – and voila, it syncs! You can then trash the re-named Dropbox folders.

1. I renamed my existing local Dropbox folder (not on the app or on " .com") by simply adding ".1" to each folder name.

2.  They immediately appeared on my Dropbox app (menu bar icon)

3.  I did not get any message regarding "Can't sync" -- everything seems to work just fine. 

4.  The renamed folders on my iMac Monterey device then appeared automatically on my Dropbox app; my dropbox.com site; the Dropbox apps on my other devices; and the local folders on my other devices (all connected on a local router). No such follow on actions as you described were required. Quantum entanglement proved!

5. SOLUTION for me: just go into my local Dropbox folder on the device running macOS Monterey and rename each folder by simply adding a ".1" suffix (SIMPLE!). Any suffix should work obviously.

5. Things are humming along at quantum speed.

Ooops-- I must withdraw my prior conclusion of success. I checked other devices and they all indicated Dropbox folders up to date. However, I added a file to a local Dropbox folder; it appeared in the Dropbox app on that device but did not appear on my other devices -- either in their local folders or apps. All green checks on all devices but files did not sync -- no error messages etc.

Back to the drawing board.

I've tried the uninstall/reinstall, Advanced install, System Pref-->Security & Privacy, etc "solves" that are all over this forum. None help.
