177 TopicsNewest/Oldest/Most Liked sort on Dropbox Forums Doesn't Work
I have been talking to tech support about an apparent bug, which has caused quite a few back and forth. As a result, because the default sort for thread is show Oldest posts to Newest, I've had to click the Show More button a lot. With increased posts, I also had to click View Full Discussion. So I tried to change the sort to Newest. Doesn't work. Oldest, Newest, Most Liked... nothing happens. Seems like an easy bug to reproduce. I am using Safari 18.3.1 on MacOS 15.3.2. BTW, I tried to insert a link to your web site that resembles this one (I put a space in it now so it shows), but even though I used your chain-icon button to add it, it says it is invalid. It was not. This appears to be another bug. This link will take you to one of your forum posts that demonstrated the issue: Copy and remove the space. https ://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001016/sync-results-under-your-activity-shows-yesterdays-synced-files-not-todays-/829814Solved75Views0likes5Comments'Your post contains invalid HTML' when inserting a hyperlink to a Dropbox Community reply
Regarding this forum, I get an error message "Content Not Published Your post contains invalid HTML. Remove the following invalid tags before publishing: a, a (class), a (data-lia-auto-title), a (data-lia-auto-title-active)" when I merely used the "Insert/Edit Link" feature. It happens upon clicking on "Publish" after I inserted a hyperlink like to this comment* as an actual link rather than pure text: * https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001016/ignoring-a-directory-does-not-work/679164/replies/82706847Views0likes1CommentFile name is cut off on the Dropbox site
How is it possible for an app this old to still not allow a user to alter the field length? 20 odd characters is grossly insufficient for anyone with real organisation habits. Why can I not simply see longer file names? Why? What is the justification for this? Take myself, a 3d modeller. I constantly have files that are categorised by project/object/component (often with more additions like side or versions). It's maddening. We're nor working in 1024 resolutions anymore, we've all got second or third monitors. Screen real estate has never been higher. So why are we stuck with this archaic restriction? Every website I go to can adapt to window size but Dropbox is acting like it's still 2007. If this isn't fixed we're going to stop paying for it.70Views0likes11CommentsHow to expand left sidebar width on the website?
How can I expand the left sidebar width. I have many levels of files and I can not see the names of folders that I want to move files into. As you can see below, all I can see is the first letter of the folder "A" and there are several of them. I want to be able to expand the left sidebar so I can see the names of those folders and not just the first letter. I was able to do it before, but not now for some reason. Thanks!1.8KViews7likes13CommentsPasswords not synced between Android phone and browser
I am trying to access a password in the browser extenion (v3.26.0) that I created on my android phone (v278.13, phone is S25 Ultra Android 15), but it is not available. Both are logged in to the same account. How do I fix this?34Views0likes2CommentsCan I remove the "your activity" files?
It seem impossible to imagine but apparently Dropbox has decided that recent activity/files in recent activity are now permanently viewable until replaced by more recent activity. Really? I hope I'm wrong. Dropbox started out as uniquely user friendly and easy to use. I've watched that disappear over the years. It's becoming every bit the arrogant, controlling, short sighted and customer unfriendly type of site that it once stood out from. Again, if anyone has different information, please share. I'm truly hoping I'm wrong.388Views2likes7CommentsHow can I open shared links directly in Finder/Explorer?
Hello, One of the most important and highly requested missing features in Dropbox is the ability to open a shared link for Files and Folder from a team directly in Finder (Mac) or Explorer (Windows). For teams working within the same folder structure—just with different root paths—this functionality is crucial (especially when working on slack or other platforms). There should be an option to allow users with granted permissions to open shared files and folders directly in their synced Dropbox environment, without the need to download them separately, saving both time and storage space. Implementing this feature would greatly enhance workflow efficiency and collaboration for teams using Dropbox as a central file management tool. Thank you for considering this suggestion! This is an ongoing complaint from your user base that has been documented for years now. I see a mobile app fix was implemented. Unfortunately for me I mainly use the web version, so I can only click the little eyeball icon to hide the section each time I refresh the page or move between folders, etc. I don't need my client's case photos, which are often graphic and disturbing, splashed across the top of my screen when I am trying to pull up a case file to check if a court date notice came in. We don't need the equivalent of a Ralph Wiggum AI messing with our work flow and potentially exposing sensitive information and images when we navigate our folders. We know where we've put things and if we forget, there is a search function that works great. Please give the end user on all platforms the option to permanently disable this "function".59Views0likes1Comment
