Hi RayNoyes, what specific error message are you getting? Do you get the same error log as in the original post?
- RayNoyes4 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Yes, that's right. One thing I've noticed is that in trying to give Dropbox access to files and folders (under Privacy) Dropbox icon is not 'active' - it's shaded. I've given full disk access and accessibility though.
I also tried the Activity Monitor to see if DB is busy but it's not. I've also tried Terminal and copied lines of 'code' I saw in one of th solutions but each time I paste one, Password? and a key symbol pop up.

As you're referring to these steps for the Terminal code, as mentioned in the post, you need to enter your computer password to enter it.

Hi again. I launched Terminal again, had no request for password this time (don't know where to put it) and the following is what happened.

You haven't pasted each line separately, you need to enter them, one line at a time.

So, I pasted each line separately after first having entered my password, all of which seemed to have been accepted. I then tried to restart Dropbox but the same old message came up....

Is your Dropbox folder located in the default location, or is your desktop app also connected to a work account, so the Dropbox folder has a different name like Dropbox (Personal)?

Hi. Really appreciate your help.
What would you say is the default location, please?
I access it via Finder where I have two accounts - one work, one personal, accessible through different email accounts.

Forgot to mention my work account is simply Dropbox my personal one is Dropbox (Personal)

Hey RayNoyes, sorry to jump in here.
On a macOS computer, the default location of the Dropbox folder would be /Users/YourUsername/Dropbox (such as /Users/Robert/Dropbox).
Is that were your Dropbox folder is located?
