MacOS Monterey 12.5 won't install Dropbox?
New macbook arrived.. but I can't seem to install dropbox locally. (Have web access) but wanted to add folder to my finder (as before) so that I have local access to all of my files.
The installer did download - but didn't start.
Search for dropbox - and nothing.
Yet when I go to download it again... it says "looks like you've already installed dropbox" and asks me to open the app.
Click open the App and nothing happens.
Searching for Dropbox - gives me no files.
Is it not supported on 12.5 yet? Is there a way to install on this version ?
Thanks in advance,
Hey tvmunforgettable, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you try to install the Dropbox application, using the offline installer, to see if that helps?
Keep me posted.

Thank you! That worked 🙂

I had this same exact problem and this seems to resolve. The normal weblink download does not work for initial install on new machine.

I think I have the same issue. Upgraded to Monterey (12.6.1) and when I try to open Dropbox now, instead of the app opening, my Drive opens with Dropbox listed on the sidebar...I've tried Security and Privacy and grated Full Disk Access, but still no joy...what next? I can still access Dropbox on the web, but I've always been able to open the app on my iMac...any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey fhussar, thanks for the nudge here and sorry to see you're having trouble.
Do you see the small Dropbox icon in your menu bar, or is it not there?
If you see it, can you please hover over it with your mouse and let us know what you see?

Thanks for your reply...when I hover over the icon I see " Dropbox 162.4.5419 Up to Date"

Hi fhussar, you mentioned that your drive opens with Dropbox listed on the sidebar. Can you send me a couple of screenshots, demonstrating what you described?

the icon...click on it and I normally choose the "folder" icon..
..but instead of the app opening like it always has, my Drive opens, with Dropbox in the sidebar...why won't the app open?
thanks for your help...in advance

Thanks for the info and the screenshots, fhussar.
However, can you please clarify what you mean when you say that the app doesn't open?
When you click on the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and then on the folder icon, the Dropbox folder opening is the expected behavior.
Are you referring to the Dropbox app interface that's been deprecated for a while now, that kind of looked like our website?
Because, other than that, everything looks normal, from what I can see on the screenshots.
Does the app work as normal? Meaning, if you add/edit/delete files from your Dropbox folder, does that reflect on the website and vice versa?
