My app's stuck on Starting...
Hi. If you look back, I was here in April asking these same questions. The problem was never resolved, I just resigned myself to using Dropbox online instead of the App,
The problem is only on my Windows 10 laptop which I reset in April (Dropbox was working fine on it before the reset). I have two other PCs, a W10 and a W11, both use Dropbox perfectly well. My Android mobile phone also uses the app without any difficulty. I have the basic Dropbox account so I understand that if I want more than 3 devices to use the app I have to log one off first. All my devices are on the same router and home network so if one works they all should.
I've tried everything that has been suggested in this thread and nothing has helped.
It would be great to find a solution, but I'm pessimistic.
Sue

AZI_doum and sue1201, can you please clarify for me what country you're currently located in?
Other than that, are you having any issues when accessing the Dropbox website, besides your desktop apps?
- sue12013 years agoExplorer | Level 4I'm in the UK. The error only occurs on my newly reset w10 laptop, I never had any problems before either online or with the app.

sue1201, I went a bit back and checked your previous posts in this thread and from what I can see, your desktop app’s stuck on starting, based on the screenshot you previously provided. Are you also receiving an error about the Dropbox app being offline?
If possible, can you please click on the same Dropbox icon in your system tray, then go to the gear icon and to your preferences? What I’d like you to do is to turn off the automatic Dropbox launch upon your computer’s startup.
Then, please restart your computer and after some time has passed, manually relaunch the Dropbox app. I’d like to make sure that there aren’t any other services/apps that also begin to run when your computer initially starts and which could be interfering here.

NancyI tried what you suggested, it made no difference.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop!
Can you also double check how many files are currently located within your local Dropbox folder? To do this, you can right click on the local Dropbox folder directly and then, select Properties.
Please send me a screenshot of the new pop-up window.

Hi sue1201, can you perform an advanced re-install, and let me know if this changes things at all?
