Screenshot links no longer working since installing Mojave
Hi,
Since installing MacOS Mojave, the automatic Dropbox copying of a screenshot link into the clipboard has stopped working. (Mojave has it's own new screenshot functionality which seems to be interferring with this feature on Dropbox.)
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks!
- Hey, could you please try and set the screencapture setting to Save to Desktop, and see if that does the trick?Let me know what you find!

Can you just confirm for me if you have the OS settings applied to save the screenshot to your Desktop? - Daphne5 years ago

On Mojave and later, you can choose the location of where to save your screenshots on your computer.
This setting would need to be set to save to the Desktop for the Dropbox desktop app screenshot saving function to work correctly.
You should be able to check this by opening the screenshot tool with Command+Shift+5, and then clicking "Options" from the toolbar to see where they're being saved.
Hope that helps slipstreamD! - slipstreamD5 years agoHelpful | Level 5
Version: 116.3.307
Desktop is where the OS settings are set to.
Dropbox says "Syncing Screenshot" and then "Syncing" and then "Up to date".

Thanks for checking that info slipstreamD!
It looks like you're running a beta version of the app, denoted with xx.3.xxx. I'd suggest downgrading to the latest stable version of the app to see if there is any change in the behaviour.
To do this, please toggle off the "Early releases" options at the bottom of your account settings here. Then you can download and install the latest stable version here.
Once you've done this, you can restart the device and then do a quick test. - slipstreamD5 years agoHelpful | Level 5
Ok. Updated to v115.4.601 Daphne
Still seeing same Syncing messages, so it is saving. Still set to desktop.
Does not get copied to my clipboard though.

So we can have a better look into this alongside some device specific info, I've just sent you an email to the email address linked with your profile here, slipstreamD.
Please check your inbox when you have the time, and we can continue from there if you'd like to - thanks! - dylanks5 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Hi there,
For the past week or so, I've had the same issue (screenshots links no longer getting copied). At the time there was a very quick dialog about a software package that seemed unrelated asking for security permissions (I think it was com.adobe.armdc.smjobblesshelper, but it was one of those classic dialogs that steals your focus while you're typing and I pressed enter before noticing focus had changed from another app to this dialog) but that could of course be a coincidence. Here's what I've verified/tried:
- Screenshots still set to save to Dropbox Screenshots folder
- Security & Privacy settings still set to give Dropbox all the permissions requested (and the com.adobe helper listed above)
- Dropbox client version is v116.4.368
- macOS 10.15.7
- Restarted Dropbox client
- Restarted macOS
Thanks,
-Dylan

Hi Lusil,
The only pending update is the upgrade to the next version of macOS which I'm not ready to follow yet. I'll reach out via support as time permits.
