Slow offline sync causing issues with macOS Folder Actions

Under the new Dropbox app architecture for macOS, we're experiencing a few issues.

The most notable at the moment is the ability for macOS Folder Actions to complete as expected. This seems to be associated with the fact that files are downloading immediately on the Mac tasked with executing the Folder Action. The entire Dropbox folder has been selected for "Make availble offline". Despite this, new files syncing from another device will still appear with a grey cloud (Not Downloaded) next to them for some indeterminate amount of time.

Is there a way to truly force files to download immediately as they did for as long as I can remember? (Over a decade…)

Hey ns01, thanks for posting on our Community!

Could you let us know some additional information about the issues you've been experiencing so far?

Also, can you clarify the desktop app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar?

When you say grey cloud, are you referring to the online only syncing icon perhaps? If so, are having troubles making those files available offline on your computer?

Let us know more and we'll take it from there.

Yes, it's the online only icon. Status in the menu bar is up to date. We're running 162.4.5419 on all connected machines.

Is this expected behavior for an install that has specified that the entire Dropbox be available offline? This wasn't an issue until the Dropbox client was updated for CloudStorage on the Mac.

Without concrete evidence, I suspect that the solution for our automation woes lies in forcing Dropbox to actually automatically download new files instead of leaving them online only. At present, there doesn't seem to be a functioning option to do so on Mac.
