I performed the advanced reinstall yesterday and this morning when I opened the MacBook dropbox was not running.

10 months agoThanks for giving that a go! Can you also make sure that your desktop app has been updated to our most recent version, in case it’s not already?

Yes, the Dropbox.app is the most current version. I was never explicit, but I leave the computer on (sleeping with the clamshell closed) when I am not using it. Somehow it crashes during that configuration.

The comment by DHK is exactly my scenario as well. i always have the latest dropbox installed as it is set to automatically do that. when this issue was troubleshooted for me originally, that was the fix we tried and it had no effect. in fact i;ve just come back to my computer now, having closed it by shutting the lid as described, and seen that dropbox app has quit itself again! i really need this issue to be resolved as it is not workable to have intermittent, unreliable file syncing when working across multiple devices. do you guys have any other ideas as to why the desktop app just quits randomly? (this is also germane only to my newest mac machines - never have this issue on my old imac which i still use at home)
