The desktop app on Windows 11 isn't connecting to the internet
Application Affected
DropBox Windows App
Device
HP OmniBook
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
Windows 11
Dropbox App Version (if using the app)
241.4.4853
Question or Issue
I just purchased a new Windows 11 machine and downloaded the DropBox app. In the system tray, when I hover over the greyed-out app, it says "Dropbox 241.4.4853 Connecting..." and it never changes. I have a similar issue on another Windows 11 machine. Can someone help me get this connected?

Same issue here. Brand new computer, Windows 11 Home.
A few additional notes:
- Installation never really completes. The installer window closes without a success message, and Windows Explorer crashes/reboots.
- C:\Program Files\Dropbox\Client does not get created.
- Although a grey icon appears in the system tray, clicking it shows only a window with a loading animation. Clicking sign-in from the menu in that window results in an error.
- After a reboot, the icon in the system tray is gone – the Dropbox process doesn't restart.

Yes, I was installing from the web login as well as dropbox.com/download. I just tried dropbox.com/install and the installer correctly configured the Dropbox app. It's all good now. Thanks for the information.
Just another FYI, I completely wiped my computer and did a fresh Windows 11 install. I then tried to install via dropbox.com/download and got an error that it could not be installed. Then when I tried the link above, dropbox.com/install, it installed properly.

Hi Bobkotdb, could you try reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application, without uninstalling it first, by using this link?

Re-visiting this thread... just tried the installation again and the flow is working now. The deice was showing up many times now in the devices list and I had to delete some of the copies for the new installation to proceed, but otherwise, the issue is resolved now for me. (Installed version = 242.4.5815)
