What will other users do without Dropbox Passwords?

I've been using the Dropbox Passwords on my computer and phone and not sure what I'm going to do without it!  What are other Dropbox users going to do now?  I'd welcome any suggestions.

  • Thanks for your helpful replies, I've decided to use 1Password but I'm upset that I now have to pay for something that I was already paying for and worked very well

I can update to add that my initial attempts were on my PC, and this is where I encountered the inability to delete or reset passwords. I occasionally used Dropbox Passwords on my android devices but found it too cumbersome and so switched to Google passwords on those devices. However, yesterday I opened the app on my phone and I was able to successfully delete my passwords, one by one. I only got through about 100 of the 400+, but today checked in on my PC and those 100 are definitely gone. It's tedious having to do it one by one, and while I accept that Dropbox is scuttling the app, I feel pretty cheated that they are making it so hard to remove all of my passwords from their system. Almost like they initiated the divorce and they are retaining custody my passwords. The password integration is one of the main reasons I have kept the paid subscription.

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to express my dissatisfaction regarding the announcement of the discontinuation of Dropbox Passwords at the end of October 2025. Like many of you, I relied on this feature to manage my passwords securely and seamlessly within my Dropbox subscription. It’s a major disappointment to see this feature removed without Dropbox adjusting its pricing accordingly. Instead of compensating for the loss of this added value, the subscription prices remain unchanged, making the service less appealing for loyal users like myself.

For those looking for a reliable alternative, I highly recommend Bitdefender Passwords. This password manager is included in certain Bitdefender family subscriptions, such as the Family Pack, which provides comprehensive protection for the entire family at no additional cost for this feature. I’ve already started migrating my data to this solution, which integrates well and offers advanced security options.

Feel free to share your experiences or other suggestions in the comments. Let’s hope Dropbox takes the community’s feedback into account!

    Best regards,

I realized my Eero subscription includes a free 1Password subscription!!  I removed my autopay from Dropbox and purchased a M365 subscription and will be using OneDrive going forward.  Family subscription is the same price as Dropbox and I get 6TB storage across 6 accounts plus the other Microsoft apps.  It’s a no brainer for me.  Not sure how Dropbox stays in business!
