Why am I not eligible for Dropbox on File Provider?
I havea macbook on which I had the dropbox app installed with a different account that was running perfectly well with File Provider. 3 months ago I tried out some other solutions for syncing files and cloud storage so I completely removed the app from my macbook and deleted my account. Since then I have come back to dropbox but it doesn't let me use File Provider anymore. In the settings of the app it says im not eligible to receive the update. This has caused me some issues with online only files that are visible but not openable on my macbook.
I was wondering if there was anything I could do to get the app to use File Provider. Does it maybe not want to use File Provider for the duration of my trial?
I am thinking about maybe copying the previous version of the app from a Time Machine backup and forcing the File Rpovider like that but it does seem a bit far fetched.
Hi Jay,
Suddenly I became eligible. I updated the app and everything works fine now.
Thank you.

Hey chvandenbemden, thanks for reaching out to us.
Can you let me know which macOS version you're using?
Is your Dropbox folder located in your internal or an external drive?
Keep me posted.

Thanks for the info, chvandenbemden.
Can you let me know how many files you currently have in your local Dropbox folder?
Also, are you using the stable version of the Dropbox app or the beta one? You can see that by hovering over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar with your mouse.

Hi Hannah,
I have camera uploads (about 6800 picture) showing up as online only and a couple of nested folders with about 15pdf files in them, also online only.
I am using the stable version, 221.4.5365. Right under it, it says 'up to date'.
Thank you.
