Windows 7 functionality
I know that windows 7 support has ended and that Dropbox plans to cease functionality on May 2025 but is there an exact date when will this happen? And does it mean that the dropbox desktop app will ...

The Dropbox application likely won't be able to connect to the servers anymore, which means syncing will stop.

At this point just go straight to 11. Windows 10 will go end of life in Oct of this year, so you could be faced with the same issue with 10 not long after that.

Thanks for your reply, I can't find a way to contact Dropbox Support and find the exact date. Only the Support Chatbot is available, which does not provide an answer at all. Is there an e-mail for Dropbox Support or any way that someone will answer this question?

You can find the support options available to you on the Support page. If you're on a Basic (i.e. free) account, you're limited to the chat bot, help articles or asking questions here.
It's highly unlikely that Dropbox would provide an exact date if you contacted Support. If one were available, they would have posted it. It's also likely that there is no exact date. If they roll out the changes like they have in the past, it could be a gradual rollout that doesn't affect everyone on the same date.
