Dropbox overcharging for tax?
The Dropbox site is attempting to overcharge sales tax when upgrading. Sales tax per WA state for my zip code is 9.9%, while Dropbox wants to charge 10.5%. Anyone else experience this behavior?

Hey @eosterman, thanks for posting here!
Give me some time to check into this internally, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you!

Thanks Megan. I'll hold off upgrading until I hear back.

Hi eozzy, hope it’s alright to jump in.
Keep in mind that, generally, Dropbox collects and remits tax on transactions when required to do so. Taxability and tax rate are generally determined by the location of the buyer and seller, and various state and local tax laws.
However, to look into this further, we can log a ticket for you and have our team check this internally, since we don’t have account visibility here.

Thanks Nancy. Your response tells me that Megan is no longer looking into it. I realize that Dropbox must collect tax based on location of all of those listed. The image attached is WA DOR's tax information for my location.
For what its worth, I attempted to contact support, however your chatbot wouldn't allow me to go beyond it, and recommended that I ask the community. You may want to get that fixed.

Does www.dropbox.com/support show any updates on your ticket eozzy ?
- eozzy2 years agoExplorer | Level 3According to the support site, I don’t have access to it as a paid member, so I have zero idea.
The last update I received was July 18th from a different representative stating they were looking into it. - Mark2 years ago
