I can't upgrade via the Google Play store.

I just wasted 45 mins online with an agent.  Tried to upgrade my account.  After all that you can't upgrade your account via DROPBOX sales agent because I signed up via via Google play store.  So went to google play store and I can't upgrade my account via playstore!  Gone back and forth and back and forth with the agent to get nowhere.  Asked if I could call someone for direction, have to go via email!  Was told I need to upgrade to a business plan to make a call.  Can't upgrade to a business plan for direct support because I pay for DROPBOX via playstore.  Surely a big tech company can do better and make upgrading which is essentially volunteering to pay MORE for your service easier! ... No way to upgrade my service without spending more time on a service call and wasting more time.  Very very irritating.  Maybe you want to fix that!

Hey Raph, I was having the same issue upgrading through the play store. Initially no option available. But I literally just upgraded through the app. I had the plus plan and wanted the professional/essentias. I was in the process of sharing a folder with a friend and when I attempted to edit some of the sharing options is when the option to upgrade for more options pooped up. So to keep it simple follow these steps:

Find file/folder > Click Share > Click modify settings under Link for editing/viewing > Click any option listed to attempt to modify settings i.e. "Allow downloads" > Upgrade option to pop-up. Your welcome in advance 😉.

I am also unable to upgrade. Purchased through google, but cannot update to professional. The previous fix no longer works.. Crazy they make it so difficult.

Hi sahrens1, not sure if you saw my comment on how to do it but if that don't work anymore, you are probably better off just canceling your current subscription and renewing/upgrading via the web because in the future if you want to downgrade, I found no option to via Google playstore/app when I needed to downgrade and wound up having to do it this way anyway. Your files won't be deleted so don't worry about losing anything.

You mean choosing in the app? No. so. I lose the money? To start again? That does not seem right.

Hey sahrens1 - may I ask if you're getting any particular errors when trying to upgrade your account?

Also, just to clarify, what plan are you on at the moment?

You can cancel it via the play store and it will still be active until your next bill date. then reactivate it online via their site. You don't lose money, but in the event the cancelation is immediate, just wait till the day before yits supposed renew and cancel it. then tue next day reactivate it again when you get the email saying you no longer can upload/sync your files.

I already paid for this via google play store for a year. So, if I cancel, I lose that money, and then have to buy again...

oh. in that case I'm not sure what to tell you besides the steps I did to upgrade myself from the app. I did just read that Dropbox doesn't give refunds and you will keep full access till the date of the next billing date, so even if you cancel, you won't lose accesss But maybe it give you am opportunity to reactivate your account via the site. I'd attempt to cancel it paying attention to all pop ups. You have nothing to lose if you still keep full access for the rest of the year anyway. it's worth a shot. Dropbox support literally offers no help directly on this issue as you can see by their responses in this thread. It's a Google play store issue, it seems like, so maybe contact them if you don't feel comfortable canceling and the trying to reactivate via Dropbox.com. good luck.
