Invite to my Employers Dropbox wanting me to subscribe or upgrade
I had access to my employer's account but it was linked to an old email address I no longer have access to. Now my Boss has invited me to join his Dropbox folder again to my personal Dropbox account, however, Dropbox wants me to subscribe or upgrade to a Business account in order to join his account as a staff member.
How do I fix this, I don't need a business account.
Hey AnnetteES!
Is it possible that you have a linked account? If you go to 'All files' and click the avatar in the top right, is there an option 'switch accounts'? If there is a connected account, what plan is it currently under?

Hey AnnetteES, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!
It sounds like your boss send you an invite to a shared folder and didn't invite you to their Dropbox for Business teams account, assuming they're using one that is.
If that's the case, you can see more information and how to walk-around this here.
I hope this helps!

Hi Walter, thank you for your reply.
So can you confirm if this is an invite to a schared folder, or to be part of his team?

It seems that this is an invite to a team account indeed AnnetteES
Do you happen to have connected your accounts previously? I mean, have you paired your personal account (the one you're using at the moment) with the one you had in the past perhaps?
What exactly is shown in your plan tab at the moment?

I don't think I have connected any accounts in the past with my current account. Here is what I have when I clicked the tab you provided:

Hey AnnetteES, sorry to jump in here.
You wouldn't need to upgrade your own account to join someone else's Dropbox Business team.
Are you getting a prompt to do so, when following the process to join the team?
If so, can you please send me a screenshot of the prompt?

Hi,
This is what happens:
1. I click on the link sent to me (Join your team):
2.
3. Then it prompts me to "sign into your Business Account", however, as you can see it also shows 'You're currently signed in as [removed per the Dropbox Community Guidelines] Neither 'Continuing with Google' nor signing in as my old account works.
4. When I go to my account to Home, there is no sign of '5 Team McFall account or shared folder.
I don't know what is going wrong?

also can see the invite in the top right of my account:
So I click to accept it, and it then tells me to sign in again:

Thanks for the screenshots, Annette!
If you use a different browser or a private browsing window, to accept the invitation from your email address, does it help?
Just keep in mind that you'll need to accept the invitation, by logging in to the Dropbox account that is associated with the email address that the invitation was sent to.

Hi Hannah,
I have tried with a different browser. And I get the same results. It diverts back to 'Sign in to your Business account with the other email adddress.
I need to be able to upload the work I am doing to my Boss Dropbox account, but this issue is preventing me from doing my job.
Is there anyone who can help with this, someone to call perhaps?

Have you contacted your boss to find out why they have invited you to join the team?
This would merge your account into the team itself, is this what you want in order to transfer the files across?
