Thank you! Follow up questions about what happens to existing shared folders?.....
In the free account, I have a couple of folders that were shared with other people...
When I change the email address on the free account, will the shared folders and their contents stay there, and will they still be shared/linked to the other people's Dropbox accounts? Will they see that my email on the account has changed? Will they need to do anything?
And if I currently have a folder shared with someone in the free account, but I need that share to be with the new Plus account, do I need to create a new share, invite the person, and then drag the contents over to the new account? Is that how it works?

4 months agoSo if you change email addresses on an account it will update all shared folders etc. to that new email address. You and them wont need to do anything about that - it will just happen. They arent told you've changed email, but, would see the new email if they went to look at it.
So, if you then want to set shares up on the new Plus account yes, you'd need to reshare and get reinvited in. They wouldnt be 'attached' to the email you have released - so wont automatically join on the new account when you set it up.
