Cannot export passwords from Dropbox Passwords because of a comedy of errors
Device My PC, then Pixel 8 Pro, then iPad Pro (M1) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 10 / Mozilla Firefox, then Android 16, then iPadOS 17.0 Dropbox App Version/Browser Version ...

Yeah, for me the export instructions are worthless. No gear icon in the Android app, no avatar in the Firefox extension, and I'm not going to 1Password. This sucks.

3 months agoSorry to hear that you're having issues exporting your passwords from the Dropbox Passwords app and Passwords extension, HateThis.
I'd be happy to investigate this for you, if you'd like, but in order to do so, can you please send me a screenshot of how the app and the extension look on your end? What do you see on your end, instead of the steps in the article?
Of course, please make sure that no sensitive info appears on the screenshot.
Have you tried doing it from a different browser, like Chrome or Edge?

- Apologies for the "Hate This" name. I just have less than fond memories of long ago when Google would pawn me off to user forums for every single question/feedback/bugreport.
- Amazing but true: I installed your extension in Cromium - which sort of failed - BUT something about it fixed the extension window in my Firefox. 😯 Once Firefox got the authorization pop-up, the screen looked different, it had an avatar, and I was able to export my passwords. 🤔
In general, the password manager worked pretty well. I'm going to miss it. Won't miss the export dance (sorry). Thanks.
