Question or Issue
For the first time since I bought my first PC in 1985 or so, I'm having to leave my computer with a tech support company, briefly, and I want to make sure that they can't access any of my files. I plan to move my files to an external drive and remove them from my laptop - but what do I do about my Dropbox files? I currently auto-sync files between my laptop and dropbox's "cloud" - how do I make sure that the tech can't see any of the data in any of my Dropbox files?

Welcome back to our Community, Cara_M. Hope you’re doing well.
Before taking any action on your Dropbox files, I suggest that you double check the syncing status of your desktop app first; does it report that it’s up to date?
If it does, and you can see all of your files on www.dropbox.com, you can then go ahead and unlink your desktop app from your Dropbox account. After that, you can also delete your local Dropbox folder, since it’ll no longer be syncing to your Dropbox account online.
Hope this helps! Let me know, if something else comes up though.
