How to remove a member from a downgraded team?
Dropbox Plan - Basic (Formerly had Business Standard)
Are you a Team Member or Admin? - Admin
Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes
Question or Issue
I'm the current Admin for my organization and a previous employee is still on our DropBox account as a "Member." From the Admin Console page, it looks like she has 1+ Gb of storage used in her account. If I "Disconnect" her from our account, will her docs be lost? Does she need to set up a separate account first and then, transfer her files before I disconnect her? Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.
Hey ShalomAdmin, thanks for reaching out to us.
Would you mind clarifying what kind of plan you're currently using? I'm asking because it sounds like you might be in a locked state since you mentioned our Basic plan, but formerly had a team account. You can read more about this here.
Provided that's the case, then features such as inviting new members, suspending or removing members are disabled. If you don't want to continue with Dropbox Business, what you need to do is disband your team.
None of your files will be lost if you do that, you'll just go back to the personal account you had before, and the same thing will happen to your members' accounts.
I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any more questions!

Welcome to the community ShalomAdmin
This article is exactly what you're looking for, it includes instructions and lets you know what happens to the team member's files.
The team member’s account is converted to an individual Dropbox Basic account that’s no longer linked to your team. They retain access to all files and folders that were shared with them, as well as any private files stored in their account.

Thank you for the link to the article! Unfortunately, we no longer have the Business Standard plan, and I can't "Manage Access." Is there a way to do this without having to re-up the Biz Standard subscription?

Hi Megan: I was able to "Disband the Team" so thank you! I think that resolves the issue. I appreciate your help.
