I historically have used two email addresses. The login combo in my bookmark was not changed yet when I clicked on it, I was logged out. I had to sign in and I used the credentials I have always used but could not get in. I tried logging in with my second email address and clicked 'forgot password' to ensure I had current access. That did not work either (although it did recognize my email). So yes, I am confident I was using the right combo I always have.
