The thing is, I don't know. I've been given this report which said we can't change it because "it’s the account that syncs the Dropbox repository".
I've honestly never heard of such a thing and didn't think Dropbox worked that way.
I mean, would removing the main Admin account adversely affect the files, folders or the access to the files in any way? Would it cause some change to the structure of the files as the user's see them?
What possible drawbacks could there be to simply reasigning the Admin and removing the old Admin?
I can't think of any, but want to be absolutely sure there isn't some historical or other reason why the Dropbox would be affected adversely.

2 years agoAs long as the files remain in the team and they're not deleted, there's really no drawbacks in changing the admin of the team.
The new admin will be able to gain access (if they don't already have it) to all files through the admin console anyway.
But if changing admin roles sounds too extreme, you can always change the admin's name and email and give the account to someone that will be appointed as the new admin.
