Password protect within account on the Essentials plan
I have my account open on my chrome profile and it’s possible for people to get into my dropbox account from the several shared computers it’s connected to. So I was wondering if it’s possible to password protect folders while in my own Dropbox account.
my plan is Essentials.

No it isnt. Sorry.
Dropbox is designed to be used on devices using the security features of the operating system itself. So you need to password and protect the Chome book itself - i.e. passwords on account, encryption etc. so that people cannot get on to your account.

If you're using Dropbox on a shared computer, you should be signing out of your account after each use. You should also be signing out of Chrome and not storing any credentials in the browser. It would be very easy to protect your account if you just used the security options already available to you.
