Registrated Mail no longer exists - can't get the Code to login.

Hey everyone,

so i have a bit of a problem here lol. I created a Dropbox Account in August 2023 with a freshly made gmail account being .de instead of .com . Everything worked fine back then, I uploaded some files and had no issues. I haven't really touched the account ever since, so when i needed those uploaded files today I was stunned to see that the gmail.de account i had doesnt exist anymore, however whenever i try to login via the dropbox login ( I still have the email aswell as the password noted down and saved in my Iphone Password safes) that theres this 2 Factor Authentication which sends a 6 Digit Code to my - u guessed it - no longer existing Gmail Account.

I tried using the Dropbox Site that pops up when you click " I cant login", filled out everything i knew about the account that i used back then to create it but after entering evreything as good as i can remember it keeps telling me I have to write a Mail to support @ dropbox.com directly. Did that and the automated message came right back basically saying that i should try these and these steps but none of them really answers my questions.

Is there ANY way to change Mail in the Dropbox Account I want to get into WITHOUT having to put in the Code or even login in (i.e an admin / support could change that for me)?

Actually super bummed out as these files do hold a certain emotional value to me and just not being able to get to them just sucks lol.

FYI: Im on a seperate Account i used WAY back in the Day writing this. 

Also cant just open up a New Gmail Account with the Mail i used to register here a Year ago since gmail doesnt let me chose ".de" instead of ".com" . 

 

 

So if anyone here knows how to either get into this account without needing to put the 6 Digits they send to your Mail or any Mod / Admin could change the linked Mail to another mail that would make my day.

 

(Yes i do have the Password for the Account i cant get into, it accepts the Password aswell )

    Not likely. You can try to contact Support directly, but if you're unable to receive the code and unable to answer the questions about the account, then you likely won't be able to gain access to the account.

    Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for sign in issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.
