"Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded"
I got an email supposedly from dropbox. with the subject "ATTN: We recommend completing your Dropbox setup ASAP", and then saying "Your files are nearly ready to be uploaded", followed by a dropbox.com link, with the following format https://www.dropbox.com/l/XXXX0x_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxx/h (characters are different). This seems like it could be legit, but also could be some kind of scam ? Any way I can confirm what it is without clicking the link? I tried searching for it on google and got no results back.
Hey adrianxw, sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that since this email came from an official Dropbox domain, it's possible that the email was sent out in error, since this is usually an email sent out when you first create a Dropbox account.
Feel free to ignore the email and let us know if you receive any similar emails in the future.

Hey jongraphs, thanks for the screenshots and additional info.
It does look like a legit Dropbox email, that was perhaps sent in error.
You can simply ignore it.

Thanks. Perhaps a retraction email is in order.
Thanks

I ssem to have joined to this thread which it has nothing to do with me.
I see that Mike W.45 has commented but I am not the same use account. Perhaps, something has gone wrong in identifying a user name.
Would one of the Drobox administrators please remove me from the thread?
Thank you.

There seems to be a problem. I have received 5 emails from the Dropbox Community in the last 2 days.
My dropbox name is Mike Wood; when I just wrote about 15 minutes ago, the user name Mike W.45 which is not my username.
Would one of the Dropboxers/moderators please tell me how I can get out of this thread?
p.s. ignore the Mike W.45 name at the top of this post as it's wrong.
Mike

Hi Mike W.45, you can unsubscribe from any threads you don't want to receive notifications about from this page.
Regarding your forum username, you can have a different name to your Dropbox account itself. According to our system, we can see that you are the same user as the person who posted earlier, and are both under the same email address.

Hi Jay,
I'd forgotten this thread and hadn't realised that it was still open. On Thursday, I received 5 emails and wondered what was happening. I had never noticed the name, Mike W.45, before but after your last post, I had a look in "My Settings" and saw it's my username.
I'll leave things as the are and deleted any emails which are not relevant.
Thanks for help.

Hey kbftech, would you mind sending us a screenshot of the email that also shows the email of the sender, while hiding any personal info of yours?

I don't want to use the app. I've received 3 email message in November, and more in previous months. Here's an example of the email message heading:
11/24/2022, 8:42 AM
ATTN: We recommend completing your Dropbox setup ASAPI just want to stop having to read and discard them.
I don't use Dropbox frequently, but it's great when I do need it.
Thanks for your help.
SweetTasha.
