Trying to change email and getting an error that "This email is already taken."
I am trying to change the email address on my dropbox account. I used to have two dropbox accounts but deleted one about 10 days ago. I am now trying to change the email on my second account to the email I used for the other account. Even after 10 days, I am still getting the error "This email address is already taken". When I try to login with that email address, it brings me to the signup page, suggesting that the email is not associated with an account. What do I need to do to be able to use this email address with my dropbox account? Thank you!
For anyone having this problem in the future, the solution was that there was a dropbox sign (sign.dropbox.com) account associated with the other email. When you try to login to dropbox.com with the second email (that you are trying to change your account to) there is no indication that the email is in use on sign.dropbox.com. But if you login to sign.dropbox.com with the next email, then delete the account (or change the email) then go back to dropbox.com on the old account you can use the new email.

Hey jluser780 - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Are you 100% sure that there's no Dropbox account associated with the email address you're trying to use?
Could you clear your browser's cache and/or try another browser and let me know if you get the same error?
If you do, I'd appreciate a screenshot (omitting any personal info) too.

I have a similar problem. I am trying to change email on my dropbox account and it has exact same "Email already taken" error as in above screenshot. I used to have a dropbox account with the email I am trying to change to but that is already deleted. I tried the sign.dropbox.com suggestion but I am not able to login there so I assume I dont have an account there. Any other ideas? Thanks

It has been over a month. If I do that in an incognito window it shows me the "Sign up for Free" form to add name and password. How do I remove this old account so I can reuse the email?
