How do I temporarily disable Dropbox

How do I temporarily disable Dropbox

Hello...

I have a Mac Mini M2 running macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 (latest version)

I have Dropbox 190.4.6383 installed and visible on the Mac Menu Bar

I have a Google Pixel 7 running Android 14 (latest version)

I have connected these 2 devices with a proven working USB C cable

I am trying to use 'Android File Transfer' which I am told will not open due to interference coming from Dropbox.

Can someone please tell me how to temporarily turn off Dropbox so I may text this theory?

Also, once turned off, how do I turn it back on.

Much thanks!

Hey there @Dey1 - thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!

You can quit the desktop app by clicking on the app's icon in your menu bar and then selecting the quit option after you click on your account's profile pic and if you like you can also pause syncing.

I hope this helps!

Thank you Walter. Now that I have quit the app, the Dropbox Menu Bar icon has disappeared. How to I start Dropbox back up after my tests and return the Dropbox icon to the Menu Bar?

You should be able re-launch the app from the Applications folder in the sidebar of a Finder window @Dey1

If you'd like to you can also add it to your Mac's dock for easy access.
