Why is dropbox running so many things at startup?

Hey @seamusvibe, thanks for reaching out to us.

Can you let me know what the status and version of the Dropbox app is at the moment?

You can hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray, to see this info.

Also, can you try to quit the app and all your running tasks and then relaunch it, to see if that changes anything?

Let me know what you find.

Version 166.4.2920 it says everything is up to date. exiting the app and restarting it won't do anything about the 11 processes in startup. It will try to run all these next time I restart my computer. They seem to be having a sizeable impact on bootup times. Is this normal? I have disabled Dropbox as a bootup application until I can figure out what this is. this is disconcerting to say the least. It looks like it's trying to launch Dropbox 9 times and run 2 other things(conhost and a cmd.exe).

Hi @seamusvibe, when the Dropbox desktop application launches, there are several processes that are run to allow the app to function as it should.

This would be normal behavior for there to be more than one Dropbox process for the app.

4 launches that have a high impact on startup, 4 mediums, and 3 lows, seems excessive for 1 application. I only have 11 other things launching and when compared to those apps, including similar apps to Dropbox, they do not have the same startup impact. If that's how it is, that is how it is. I'll just keep it disabled until I want to use it.
