Chromebook and how to save files to dropbox

I have difficulties saving files from my Chrombook to my dropbox account. My dropbox shows up in files so thest ok. But if I open a file from my Google mail account I cant do save as to dropbox only to my G-drive! So how can I save any open file on my Chrombook to Dropbox? Help!

Hi @CalleG, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you please let me know if you've added Dropbox to the files app on your Chromebook as outlined here?

If you did and still have issues with this, I'd appreciate a screenshot so that I can have a visual too.

Hi, big thanks for helping me. Yes I have DB in my files app there I can see both my G-drive and Dropbox, works fine.

But I want to for example be able to save as to my dropbox. I normally open the file and when print as PDF and choose my Dropbox as location. but when I do it I only can see my G-drive and local drive not the dropbox.Only G-drive hereOnly G-drive hereIn the FIles app it works fineIn the FIles app it works fine

Hi @CalleG, it's possible that this feature isn't available from Gmail or your browser directly. 

Are you able to save files in your local folder and then drag them to the Dropbox folder?
