Files different on computer, not syncing to site

Files different on computer, not syncing to site

Hello there,

The files of my computer dont correspond to the files on my website version.

I have my Desktop client (Windows, 64, last version) connected to my account, so I can acces my files from the computer and from the website.

I thought I was out of sync, but the file in my computer is a newer version of the file, which was modified by another person.

Furthermore, I uninstalled and reinstalled DropBox client, syncing in another directory to avoid any problems. Same result.

The sync is 'Up to date' and there is no issues in the sync panel. Furthermore, we are two people with this problem in the shared files.

In my opinion I would say that the website file is somehow wrong, and the changes of Desktop clients are applied to other clients, but not the website.

Any thoughts? Solutions?

Thanks in advance

Hello again,

Thanks for your interest.

I found the '''bug'''.

Indeed the file was a ods file and the modifying person messed up with pages, and names.

Sorry for wasting your time.

Have a good day

Hi @Pabs33, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

What version of Windows are you running exactly, since you were missing the number in your post?

Are you certain you're signed into the same email address on the Dropbox site and the Dropbox desktop application?

This will help me to assist further!

Do the files have green icons on then in Explorer on Windows?

If you right click one of the files with a green icon, and then click 'View on Dropbox.com', does it bring up the correct updated version of the file on the site?

Yesm the green tick on them.

When I do that, they show the site file, different from the computer file.

The history of the file just says: File edited by , File edited by ....

There is a way to see a file id or something similar?

Hi @Pabs33, could you send me a screenshot demonstrating how the content looks locally, versus what you see when you go online, please?

Greetings,

It looks like I am having the same issue. One of my computer's(desktop) folders is not syncing to the website, whereas the other computer's (laptop) same folder is syncing ok.  These folders were recently deleted due to confusion and then restored(successfully), so I don't know if that is part of the reason for this problem.   Please let me know how I can solve this issue.  Thank you.

Hi @HyukJae Henry Y, sorry to hear about your syncing issue.

Can you please let us know the desktop app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar/system tray on the computer which is not syncing?

Is it 'up to date' or still syncing perhaps?
