How to start over with my Dropbox account, and delete everything?

How to start over with my Dropbox account, and delete everything?

Dear Community

I have some problems with syncronisation and I want to start my account "from scratch",meaning I want to keep my account but delete all files and start all over with syncing from my PC.

Somewhat like getting your phone back to factory settings.

What do I do?

I have all my files backed up on a 5 TB external drive

Hi @anavix, I'd be happy to answer this one for you!

If you want to delete your files off of your Dropbox account, you can either select all of them from your Dropbox folder and delete them.

Or you can do this via our website.

Just keep in mind that you might want to keep a copy of any of your files before deleting them.

I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

I haven’t used Dropbox for years, and now have a need for it. I use my ID to reset the password, but all I get is “account already exists.” I’m in the hampster cage. Help please

Thanks for the nudge on this thread, @cwhigh.

This sounds like an error you would get, if you were trying to create a new account under an email address that's already used by another Dropbox account.

Can you try resetting your password through this link, to see if that helps?
