Folks,
I am using Dropbox in China through a VPN. I can access my files through dropbox.com. Dropbox APP on Windows computer also works perfectly.
However, Dropbox APP on my MAC book is not working at all. Files are not synchronizing. On the same MAC book, I can access dropbox.com, but not through the MAC Dropbox APP.
All suggestions, comments, tips are welcome. Thank you!
helloyc
Sorry to hear about this issue, @helloyc.
Is the app just not syncing or is it not working at all?
Are you getting some kind of error message?
What's the sync status and version when hovering over your Dropbox icon?
Let me know and we'll go from there.

Hannah,
I believe the APP is working fine, just not syncing.
It says: "Synchronizing 24 files." But it never gets synchronized.
Thank you!
Thanks for the update, @helloyc!

Hannah,
I tried the tips in that article, but it is still not working.
Most likely it is a VPN connection issue. Last week, when I was in America, it worked file.
Now I am in China, and it is not syncing. But I do have access to dropbox.com through a VPN. Not sure why the VPN is not working for my Dropbox APP.
When I wanted to setup "Protect more files with Dropbox backup," and clicked "set up" it says "looks like you are off line"
But I do have access to dropbox.com through Google Chrome and Safari. Maybe this has something to do with the Network Proxies setting?
Hi @helloyc, have you tried changing the network settings in the Dropbox desktop application to see if they help?

Thank you, Jay. I do not know how to change the network setting on Dropbox APP
Hey @helloyc, you can find the network settings in the application's preferences.

The proxy is set to be auto-detect. It is not working.
In Windows 10 Dropbox APP, it is set at auto-detect, and it syncs fine.
But not for my MAC book. I have tried to solve this issue for over a week, still no luck.
As you're currently based in China, there is little else we can suggest to make the Dropbox desktop application work if it can't bypass the firewall.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful on this matter.
