Can't find folders in Dropbox Rewind, when I try to restore them.

Can't find folders in Dropbox Rewind, when I try to restore them.

I deleted a bunch of files from Dropbox on Sept 16 or 17, and want to get them back. Tried dropbox rewind, but cannot find the files to rewind to. I can find plenty other files, but not the ones I need. When a user utilizes rewind, are some files not available?

I just did some researching, and I actually permanently deleted the files when I deleted. The research I did indicated that rewind would not recover permanently deleted files.

Bummer.

Thank you for the help, though.

Hey @rdb268, welcome to our Community!

You should be able to see your deleted content when using Dropbox Rewind, including your folders. Is there a chance that the folders you're referring to, were shared content?

Have you checked your sharing tab, along with your events page, to see if you'll be able to locate them there?

Keep me posted!

It is not a shared file, and I checked the events page. None of the needed files are there.
I should add: I rewound to Sept 3, but most of the files should be there, as I added them prior to Sept 3.  They are files I uploaded from my phone using the Dropbox app.

Hi @rdb268, thanks for the added info!

Out of curiosity, have you tried to rewind to a date prior to September 3rd, just to see if this changes things?

Do you see the deletion of those files in your events page?

I don't see the deletion of the files in my events page.  I deleted them on Sept 16/17, then rewound back to Sept 3 a week or two ago, so given that I rewound to prior to the deletion, I don't think I'd be able to see when I deleted them.

I can rewind prior to Sept 3, but wanted to try to find a solution here first, in case rewinding further back makes things worse.

Does the fact that I uploaded them from my phone make a difference?

Hi @rdb268, uploading from a phone shouldn't affect this matter.

Have you already tried contacting the support team regarding the deleted files?
