Deleted files not showing up in deleted file list

Last week I accidentally deleted a folder that I need for work.  When I realized what I'd done, I went to the deleted files page on the dropbox web site, but the folder in question was not there. Is there anyway to track down why a very recently deleted folder would not appear and how I can access it?

Hey @jdecock, welcome to our Community and thanks for using Dropbox!

To get to the chase, the events page should be what you're looking for.

This is the place where all uploads, edits, and deletions are normally logged, so it should give you a hint or two.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, Walter.  I looked at the events page.  Some of the missing files are there and when I click on them, it gives me a message that the folder was deleted.  However, I do not see the folder or any of the files in my deleted files list.  Any other thoughts?

Were you the owner of this folder @jdecock?

Could you post a screenshot of the exact error you're getting perhaps?

Hello,

I accidentally deleted a file that I need this morning, yet it does not show up in my deleted folder. I would need to recover it, is there anyway to get it back? (It shows up in my activity that it was deleted also)

Thanks

Hey @eeon, thanks for writing to us!

Have you also checked your Sharing tab

If I were you, I'd also take a look at the Events page too.

Let me know what you find there.

I was able to restore the file from the events page, Thank you!! None of my other previously deleted files (younger than 30 days) show up in my deleted folder either, but this at least solves my issue for now, thank again!
