Hi,

even though I chose not to backup my computer, I find three new files in my Dropbox:

Computer backup.dbx-backup

Passwords app.dbx-passwords

Vault.dbx-vault

Can I trash them without Dropbox malfunctioning? thanks

Thanks for the screenshot @g v.!

If you don't want to see these icons, you can delete them from the Dropbox folder. This won't affect the features themselves if you have them enabled or not already.

Hope this helps!

Hi @g v., thanks for posting today!

Are these physical files located in your Dropbox folder, or are they only visible on the Dropbox site?

Could you attach a screenshot showing this, while hiding any other personal info, in order to assist further?

Keep me posted!

thanks for replying, it looks like this. I'd prefer to have only my four folders inside ~/Dropbox.

Hey Daphne,

What happens when you delete it? I deleted it from my dropbox home thinking it would just get right if the icon or the recommendation/ad/feature. I accidentally got rid of those and my files got all corrupted and I lost a very important folder. Is there any way to get it back?

Thank you,

M

What exactly happens when you delete it? I deleted that and the password feature thingy t from my dropbox home thinking it would just get right if the icon or the recommendation/ad/feature. I really hate when I have all organized and then add those features that I wasn't really using or need. I accidentally got rid of those and my files got all corrupted and I lost a very important folder. Is there any way to get it back?

Thank you,

M

Sorry to hear about that @mortiz!

Can you check your events page to see what happened there?

Also, where did you lose the folder from? Was it a file already within Dropbox, or was it a folder that you were backing up perhaps with the computer backup feature?

Let me know and we can go from there!

Hi @Daphne !

Thanns for the response - the team already helped me and I got all my files back! I will suggest to maybe having something or a warning so users know not to delete that. I did it thinking it was a shortcut because it labeled down as "Features to try".

Again, thanks for the reply and help!
