Files aren't syncing to my Dropbox folder, only their folders. How can I fix this?

When I look at my files in DropBox from my File Explorer, there are folders that are empty. These folders do have files in them, and I can see them when I use the DropBox website. Why cannot I not see these files in my File Explorer?

Hey @MackenzieM, thanks for reaching out to us here!

As a first step, can you check if the files have any incompatible characters within the file names? For some Operating Systems, certain characters can't be within file names so they can't be synced by the app.

You can find out which characters are incompatible with your OS from here.

If that's not the case, then please let me know what your current sync status of the desktop app is showing.

Thank you! The problem was that there were colons in the titles. This helped a lot and the problem is fixed.
