My Desktop was wiped after being uploaded to Dropbox

This morning dropbox decided to start syncing my desktop, i paused the sync then deleted the desktop folder in dropbox. It proceeded to delete every file on my desktop! I've tried to rewind the file in dropbox but there is literally NOTHING there! I even tried a system restore and it still brought nothing back.  I can't see any of the files in the deleted files section on the web to restore either, they are COMPLETELY GONE!!!  There is NO support from dropbox on this at all, i tried to email them but it wants a link to a delete event that i cannot find. VERY FRUSTERATED!

Hi there @Derekj, let's see what we can do here. 

First off, great work on the initial investigation, definitely helps in narrowing down the troubleshooting. 

Since you mention that you couldn't find any of the files you're looking for in your deleted files tab, could you check your events page to see if there's a record of them being added to your account?

Have you also had a look through your local Trash/Recycling Bin?
