Shared file email notifications - sent from Amazonses.com and dropbox.com

Shared file email notifications - sent from Amazonses.com and dropbox.com

I'm seeing my spam filter quarantining shared file email notifications for some reason. Upon further investigating, I see that the ones getting quarantined are from an amazonses.com domain, not dropbox. I understand this is a legit email sending service through Amazon, but why are some sent from one address and others sent from the amazon one?

Each of the ones from amazon are a unique address so I can't whitelist the address. The domain can't be whitelisted because of obvious gaping holes that would open for my users.

Ideas?

I too have seen this Adam - not sure the problem here. Seems to be a recent change, but it is frustrating to have email trapped by spam filter. Whats going on with this one DB team?

I'm facing the same issue here. Have DMARC enabled and is just rejecting the messages from dropbox.

Any updates DB team ?

same Problem here... since 7th March no emails from dropbox.com to all of our domains. Normally I can see the communication to our spamfilters - but dropbox won't communicate to us anymore.

Same problem here. Anyone know how to get the DB team to reply?

I had a ticket open with their support, but they were telling me to adjust my spam filters...not super helpful. We've created a custom rule with our spam filtering service and seems to have helped.

Many thanks for your quick response, Adam. By generating a load of automated emails, I think I identified a part of the from-address that is consistent and have added that bit to my whitelist. It's done enough to get the activation email through, but it isn't the ideal solution, as it will either let through more than just Dropbox emails, or will stop again as soon as the from-address changes again. Thanks for your help. Nick

I think they used a REGEX based off part of the subject line and from the amazonses address.

Thanks. I'll give that a go.
