I am trying to set up a new laptop (Win10). My Dropbox files show in the browser but not in Explorer which is not what I'm used to and makes life difficult. Can you help please?
I see that Dropbox limits users to 3 devices. My new laptop replaces one that failed and has been scrapped by the manufacturer (ASUS). Could that be an issue for this installation? (How would Dropbox know my old laptop is deceased?)
You can remove any old devices through settings.
I've removed several old devices but not down to 3 yet. Is this the source of my problem? I have a desktop, a new laptop, phone, tablet and an old (Win7) laptop for emergency use only. For the last 3 I only need browser access occasionally.
Thanks, I'll try that
That not it, still not showing in Explorer
I now have things correctly on 2 of my 3 main devices, I expect I can complete the old laptop eventually. Although I had the desktop icon on the new machine it looks like the installation was incomplete until the 3rd attempt. No doubt this was my error but a simple, elegant system has got complicated.
I cannot sign in on my phone. Do I need to uninstall and reload the app or can I not even view files on this handy device now? If not Dropbox has lost its appeal for me.
